Split Pea & Ham Soup

2 cups cubed fully cooked ham
1-1/2 cups dry split peas
1 cup chopped onion
1 cup chopped celery with leaves
1 cup shredded carrot
2 Tbl. snipped fresh parsley
1/2 tsp. dried thyme, crushed
1/4 tsp. pepper
4 cup chicken broth
2 cups water
In a crockpot combine all of the ingredients. Cover; cook on low for 10-12 hours or on high for 4-5 hours. Just before serving use a potato masher to mash peas in soup. Serve.
