Apple Butter Ribs

Easy crockpot ribs with little work. These are great served with rice.
3 lbs country-style boneless pork ribs
3/4 teaspoon salt
1/4teaspoon pepper
1 cup chopped onion
3/4 cup apple butter
3 tablespoons brown sugar
1 teaspoon liquid smoke (optional)
2 cloves garlic, finely chopped
Rub salt and pepper on ribs. Place in the crockpot.
Cover with onions. Mix remaining ingredients and pour over onions. Cover and cook on low for 9 hours.
