Serving Size: 8
2 whole eggs
1/2 cup cream
2 tablespoons cocoa powder
2/3 cup milk and egg protein powder
1/2 cup Splenda
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
2 teaspoons oil
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
Chocolate Waffles Makes 8 waffles My iron is 8" square
Each waffle 3.3 grams carb minus 0.5 grams fiber=2.8 grams carb.
In a bowl place eggs, Splenda, cocoa powder (unsweetened) oil, salt, cream, vanilla and 3 tbl water *(this may be adjusted) Use a whip and get this very smooth Add the following: Milk and Egg protein powder and the baking powder
Whisk until smooth. Batter should be thick, but remember if it is too thin it will run out of the waffle iron. This is touchy and you will have to learn how much water to put in as all of these protein powders are so different in texture!
Ok this is the basics. I tried doubling the pancake recipe, adding the oil and it worked out pretty well. Then I decided to try this and liked the flavor much better. Oh when the iron is hot I melted butter into the squares before adding the batter.
P.S. Filling them with sweetened cream cheese, ricotta,
or Twinkie Cream is so good and then cutting them
on the diagonal..what a low carb treat.
