2-1/4 cups sifted cake flour
1/4 tsp. salt
2-1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 cup butter
1-1/2 cups sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp.vanilla
3/4 cup fresh, crushed strawberries
Strawberry Glaze:
3/4 cup crushed strawberries
1 cup powdered sugar
2 tbl. butter, melted
1/2 tsp. vanilla
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease and flour two 8 inch round cake pans.
Sift together the flour, salt, and baking powder. In a separate bowl, combine butter, sugar, eggs, and vanilla. Beat for 3 minutes. Add the flour mixture to the creamed mixture, alternating with the strawberries. Beat for an additional 2 minutes.
Pour batter into the prerpared pans. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until wooden pick inserted into cake comes out clean.
Top with the glaze when the cake cools.
