Peach Cake with Peach Icing

1 cup sugar
1/2 cup butter
3 eggs
2 cups flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
2 cups fresh peach puree ( mash with a potato masher, or in a blender)
1 tsp. vanilla
Preheat oven to 350 degree. Grease and flour a tube pan. Cream together the butter, and sugar. Add the eggs. Blend thoroughly. Sift flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, nutmeg, and cinnamon. Add peach puree and dry ingredients alternately to the egg mixture, beating well after each addition. Add vanilla.
Pour batter into the prepared pan. Bake for 1 hour, or until wooden pick inserted comes out clean.
Creamy Peach Icing:
1/2 cup fresh peaches
1 tbsp. sugar
1 tbsp. orange juice
1 (3 oz.) pkg. cream cheese
1 tbsp. butter
1 tsp. vanilla
2 cups powdered sugar
