2-1/2 cups flour
2 cups sugar
1 tsp. baking powder
4 tbl. cocoa
1/4 tsp. salt
1 cup oil
1 cup buttermilk or sour milk
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. soda
1 cup hot water
2 eggs
Sift dry ingredients in mixing bowl. Add eggs, oil, buttermilk and vanilla. beat well. Dissolve 2 tsp. soda in 1 cup hot water and add. Beat again. Batter will be thin.
Bake at 350 degrees for 35-40 minutes, or until pick inserted in the center comes out clean.
