2 cupS flour
1-1/2 cups sugar
3 1/2 tsp baking powder
1 tsp. salt
1/4 cup butter, unsalted
1/4 cup shortening
1 cup milk
2 tsp. vanilla extract
3 eggs
1 large can cherry pie filling
Place all ingredients, into a large mixing bowl. Beat on low speed, scraping sides of bowl constantly, till well combined. Beat on high speed, for approximately 3 minutes.
Butter a 13" by 9" baking pan. Turn mixture into pan. Spoon the pie filling onto the batter in about 16 spots. Bake for 45 to 50 minutes,at 350 degrees, until cake is golden and tests done. Filling will sink into cake while is baking.
