Black Cherry Almond Cake

3 eggs
1 cup sugar
1-3/4 cups flour
1/4 tsp. salt
2 tsp. baking powder
2 tbl. water
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp. almond extract
1-1/3 cups pitted Bing cherries, fresh or canned
1/2 cup sliced almonds
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease and flour 2 round cake pans.
Beat eggs until light in color. Gradually add sugar; beat until lemon colored. Add sifted dry ingredients. Add water, vanilla, and almond extract. Mix well. Fold in cherries and almonds very gently. Stir by hand just until incorporated .
Pour batter into prepared pans. bake for approximately 30 minutes, or until cake tests done in the center.
