Peach Almond Pie

1-3/4 cup flour
1 tsp. salt
2/3 cup shortening
1/4 cup ground almonds
1/3 cup ice water

Sift flour and salt into a mixing bowl. Add shortening and almonds. Cut in with pastry blender until mixture is pea sized. Slowly add water. Pat dough into a ball. Wrap in wax paper. Refrigerate. After dough is chilled, preheat oven to 400*. Roll out pie dough on floured surface. Line a 9 inch pie pan. Prepare filling.

Fillling:
4 cups fresh peaches
1/4 cup flour
1 tsp. almond extract
1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
2 tbl. butter

Mix together in a bowl, the peaches, flour, almond extract and sugar. Pour filling into pie pan. Dot surface with butter. Cover with other half of pastry and flute edges. Make several slits in top of crust. Sprinkle ground almonds and cinnamon over surface.
Bake 45-50 minutes or until browned.
