Pastry for one 9 inch pie
3 eggs
3/4 cup sugar
1/4 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. nutmeg or cinnamon
1 tsp. vanilla
2-1/2 cups milk, scalded
Preheat oven to 350*.
In a large bowl, beat eggs. Add sugar, salt,nutmeg and vanilla, mix well.
Blend in hot milk. Pour into pastry lined pie pan.
Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a knife inserted near the center comes out clean.
Cool. Serve with whipped cream.
