Sweet Hot Pickles

1 gallon sour pickles
2 cloves garlic (slice very thin)
5 lb. sugar
2 tsp. red pepper
Drain pickles of juice and cut in slices. Put a layer of pickles back into gallon jar, layer of sugar, sprinkle with red pepper and garlic.
Put at least 3 slices of garlic per layer.
Continue to layer pickles, sugar, pepper and garlic until gallon jar is full. Pack in all the sugar. Place cap on jar of pickles and turn upside down.
Rotate jar every 24 hours for 7 days.
