Giving Pills or Liquid Medications

Try coating the pill with peanut butter, or put it in a piece of cheese or a hot dog. If your dog is too smart for such tricks you may have to resort to a more forceful method. Take his muzzle in one hand and open his jaw with with the other hand. Another persons help is always good.
Put the pill as far back into his throat as possible and gently close his mouth. Massage his throat from the mouth down, until you feel him swallowing the medication.
Speak softly and reassuringly to your pet.
