Pineapple Drop Cookies

3/4 cup butter, softened
1 cup sugar
1 egg
1/4 cup pineapple preserves
2-1/4 cups flour
1 tsp. soda
1/2 tsp. salt
Cream the butter and sugar until light. Beat in egg and preserves. Sift together dry ingredients; add, mixing thoroughly. Drop from a teaspoon, 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheet.
Bake at 375* for 10 minutes. Cool for a minute or two, before removing from the baking sheet. Top with preserves and a walnut half just before serving.
