Peanut Butter Chocolate Pinwheels

1/2 cup shortening
1 cup sugar ( may be 1/2 brown sugar)
1/2 cup peanut butter
1 egg
2 tbl. milk
2-1/4 cups sifted flour
1/2 tsp. soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 (6 oz.) pkg. chcocolate chips
Cream the shortening and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the peanut butter, egg and milk. Sift the dry ingredients together and stir into the creamed mixture. Place the dough on lightly floured waxed paper and roll into a 15 by 8 inch rectangle. Melt the chocolate chips over hot water; cool slightly and spread over the dough. Roll jellyroll fashion and chill 20-30 minutes. Slice 1/4 inch thick.
Bake on ungreased cookie sheet at 375* for 8-10 minutes.
