Oatmeal Apple Bars

3/4 cup butter
1-1/4 cups firmly packed brown sugar
1 egg
1/4 cup milk
1-1/2 tsp. vanilla
1 cup flour
1-1/4 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
1/4 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 cup peeled, chopped apples
3/4 cup raisins
3/4 cup walnut pieces
3 cups quick cooking oats (not instant or old fashioned)
Preheat oven to 375*. Grease a baking sheet.
Cream the butter, sugar, egg, milk and vanilla in a large bowl at medium speed of an elecrtric mixer until well blended.
Combine flour, cinnamon, nutmeg, baking soda and salt. Mix into creamed mixture. Stir in fruit and nuts. Stir in oats. Drop by rounded tbl. of dough 2 inches apart onto baking sheet.
Bake at 375* for 13 minutes. Cool 2 minutes on baking sheet. Remove to a cooling rack.
