3/4 cup butter
1 cup sugar
2 eggs
1/4 tsp. vanilla
2-1/2 cups flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
Cream butter and sugar. Blend in eggs and vanilla. Add flour sifted with baking powder and salt; mix well. Chill. Roll 1/2 inch thick and cut into desired shapes. Bake on ungreased baking sheet at 400* for 8-10 minutes. Cool.
Frosting:
3 tbl. butter
dash of salt
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1-1/2 cups sifted powdered sugar
2 tbl. milk
Cream the butter. Beat ingredients well until light and fluffy.
