1 cup butter
2 cups sugar
3 eggs
1 tsp. soda
1/4 cup hot water
1/2 cup yellow cornmeal
sifted flour
Stir butter and sugar together until well blended. Dissolve soda in the hot water. Add to the shortening mixture alternately with the cornmeal. Add enough flour to form a soft dough. Roll very thin; cut into desired shapes. Place on cookie sheet.
Bake at 400* until light golden brown. Remove from cookie sheet immediately.
