Chocolate-Chocolate Chip Cookies

1/2 cup butter
1 cup sugar
1 egg
2 oz. melted unsweetened chocolate, cooled
1/3 cup buttermilk
1 tsp. vanilla
1-3/4 cups flour
1/2 tsp. soda
1/2 tsp. salt
6 oz. semi-sweet chocolate chips
Mix thoroughly the butter, sugar, egg, chocolate, buttermilk and vanilla. Stir in flour, soda, salt and chocolate chips. Cover; chill 1 hour.
Preheat oven to 400*. Drop dough by rounded teaspoonfuls onto an ungreased cookie sheet.
Bake for 8-10 minutes or until almost no imprint remains when touched.
May frost with
2 oz. melted chocolate and 2 tbl. butter, blended with 3 tbl. water and 3-1/2 to 4 cups powdered sugar.
