5 tbl. butter
1/3 cup brown sugar
1 cup flour
1/2 cup chopped nuts
1/2 cup sugar
1-8 oz. pkg. cream cheese
1 egg
2 tbl. milk
1 tbl. lemon juice
1/4 tsp. vanilla
Cream the butter and brown sugar, add the flour and nuts; mix.
Set aside 1 cup of the mixture for topping. Press remainder in the bottom of an 8 by 8 inch baking pan.
Bake at 350* for 12-15 minutes.
Blend sugar and cream cheese until smooth. Add the egg, milk, lemon juice and vanilla. Beat well.
Spread over the bottom crust. Sprinkle with the reserved 1 cup topping. Return to oven and bake for 25 minutes more. Cool, then chill and cut into squares.
