CAKE:
One package dark chocolate cake mix(pudding included)
1/2 cup apricot jam
3/4 cup water
1/3 cup oil
3 eggs
GLAZE:
1-1/2 cup apricot jam
1 tsp lemon juice
FROSTING:
1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
3/4 cup butter
3/4 cup sliced almonds
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease and flour a tube Cake pan
In large bowl blend all cake ingredients 3 minutes at medium speed until well blended.
Pour into greased and floured pan. Bake for 40-50 minutes, or until wooden pick inserted into center of cake comes out clean.
Cool 10 minutes, remove from pan. Cool completely.
Slice cake horizontally into 3 parts.
Warm jam mixture in pan, and spread between cake layers, put layers together, spread with frosting.
In small saucepan over low heat, melt chocolate chips and butter, stirring constantly until smooth.
Chill frosting until thickened, stirring occasionally. Spread on top and sides of cake.
Press almonds on top and sides of cake.
