Imprint materials, such as shells, cans, hands, feet
Play sand
Prepared Plaster of Paris, or candle wax & wicks
Disposable foil baking pan
Place the sand in the foil pan and add enough water to make it hold its shape when molded. Make an imprint in wet sand with shells, hands feet, cans, or whatever you like.
Pour Plaster of Paris or melted candle wax into the imprint. If using candle wax, insert a wick that is tied onto a pencil or bamboo skewer into the wax. Place the pencil/skewer over the center of the imprint, laying on the sand so it holds the wick upright in place. Allow to cool and harden.
Remove wax or Plaster of Paris when cool and hard.
