Chocolate Peppermint Cookies

1 package dark chocolate cake mix
1 egg
2 tsp. peppermint extract
1/2 cup butter or margarine, well softened
Preheat oven to 350F. Mix all ingredients until well blended. Roll into small, smooth balls and place on cookie sheet an inch or two apart. Bake 8 to 10 minutes. (Take them out when they still appear slightly doughy, and let them sit a few moments on the pan. They harden as they cool, but if you leave them in the oven too long, the bottoms will get crispy.)
Note: For a drier dough, use only the egg yolk.
Extra: Dip the tops of the warm cookies in powdered sugar. But do not inhale as you put the cookie in your mouth! :)
