Refrigerator English Tea Muffins

3/4 cup sugar
1 cup milk
1/2 cup butter
2 cups flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1 beaten egg
1/2 tsp. salt
3/4 cup raisins
1/4 tsp cinnamon Brown sugar and nuts for the top.
Cream sugar and butter, add eggs. Sift dry ingredients and add alternately with the milk.
Bake 20 minutes in a 350 degree oven.
This batter can be kept in a covered bowl in the refrigerator until ready to use.
