Orange Raisin Mini Muffins

1 cup sugar
juice of one orange, about 1/2 cup
1 cup sugar
3/4 cup sour cream
2 cups sifted flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. grated orange peel
1/2 cup raisins
1/2 cup chopped nuts
Mix sugar and orange juice. Set aside for dipping after muffins are baked. Cream the butter and sugar. Add sour cream alternately with the dry ingredients. fold in orange rind, raisins, and nuts. This is a stiff batter. Bake in well greased mini muffin tins.
Bake at 375 degrees for 12-15 minutes. While still warm, dip them in the orange juice and sugar mixture.
