Lemon Poppy Seed Muffins

1-1/4 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 cup sugar
2 tbl. poppy seed
1 tbl. finely shredded lemon peel
2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1 beaten egg
3/4 cup milk
1/4 cup cooking oil
Glaze:
1/2 cup powdered sugar
2-1/2 tsp. lemon juice
In a medium mixing bowl stir together flour, 1/2 cup sugar, poppy seed, lemon peel, baking powder and salt.
In another medium bowl combine egg, milk and oil. Add all at once to dry mixture. Stir just until moistened.
Spoon batter into prepared muffin pans, filling each 2/3 full. Bake 20-25 minutes in preheated 375 degree oven. Cool on wire rack for 5 minutes. Remove muffins from muffin cups.
Stir glaze ingredients together and drizzle on warm muffins
