1-1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1/3 To 1/2 cup sugar
2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1 egg, lightly beaten
1/2 cup milk
1/4 cup vegetable oil
1/2 cup chopped dates
1/2 cup Chopped pecans
Combine first 4 ingredients in a large bowl. Make a well in the center of the mixture. Combine egg, milk, and oil. Add the liquid mixture to the dry ingredients, stirring just until moistened. Fold dates and pecans into batter. Spoon into greased muffin pans filling two-thirds full. Bake at 400 degrees for 20 to 25 minutes. Remove muffins from pans immediately.
