Applesauce Sugar Muffins

1-1/2 cups sifted flour
1-3/4 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1/2 cup sugar
1/3 cup shortening
1 egg,beaten
1/4 cup milk
1/2 cup applesauce
Sift together the dry ingredients. Mix in the rest of the ingredients and blend well.
Fill greased muffin pans 2/3 full and bake at 350 for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown. Remove muffins from the pans and roll immediately in melted butter and then in a cinnamon and sugar topping
