Email To A Friend
3 ounces castor oil
6 ounces cocoa butter
12.4 ounces olive oil
15 ounces vegetable shortening
9.6 ounces sunflower oil
1 ounce wheatgerm oil
1 ounce macadamia oil
1 ounce glycerin
2 ounces powdered buttermilk
3 ounces honey
18 ounces frozen buttermilk, full fat
6 ounces lye
Directions
Makes 3 pounds.
Measure out 18 fluid ounces buttermilk and put into an ice cube tray. Freeze for a few hours or overnight. Take out of the freezer and allow to get slushy. Add lye to half the buttermilk; mix, wait a bit, then add the rest of the buttermilk. Melt solids in the microwave, then add to the crockpot. Melt all oils except glycerin, macadamia and wheat germ in the crockpot on low or medium. Combine lye mixture into oils in crockpot. Proceed as normal. Mix powdered buttemilk into glycerin and macadamia and wheat germ oils. Mix with the honey and add just before pour. I let it cure for a few days before using. Very nice.
