Pecan Crisps

1 cup sugar
3/4 cup butter or margarine, softened
1 egg
1-1/2 teaspoons vanilla
1/8 teaspoon salt
1-1/4 cups ground pecans
2 cups flour
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
Mix into a soft dough, chill. Form into small balls and press flat with bottom of glass or spatula. Bake at 350° for 10 minutes.
