2 lb. soup bones
1/2 teaspoons star aniseed – optional
2 quarts water, cold
10 allspice, whole
2 carrots, cut
1 small bay leaf
1 medium head cabbage, chopped fine
1 -1/2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
2 medium potatoes, diced
1 to 1 -1/2 cups tomatoes
1 medium onion, chopped
1/2 cup heavy cream – optional
1 teaspoon salt
dash of pepper
Put all ingredients in a stock pot and bring to boil. Lower heat to a simmer and cook for 2 to 3 hours.
