3 tbl. shortening
3/4 cup sugar
2 eggs, well beaten
1 cup milk
4 cups flour
1 tsp. nutmeg
1 tsp. salt
4 tsp. baking powder
Cream shortening; add sugar and beaten eggs. Sift dry ingredients together. Add alternately with milk. If necessary add more flour to make a soft dough. Roll half an inch thick on floured board. Cut with cutter and fry in deep fryer until brown.
