1 c. salt
2/3 c. water
1 c. corn starch
1/2 c. cold water
Mix salt and 2/3 cup water in a saucepan, stirring until mixture is well heated. Remove from heat and add corn starch which has been mixed with 1/2 cup cold water. Stir quickly. Mixture should be like stiff dough. If it does not thicken, place over low heat and stir about 1 minute. Color with food coloring or leave white and paint with Tempra paints. Mixture will keep in a plastic bag or harden in 36 hours. If drying, large solid objects should be pierced to allow drying inside. A coat of shellac will give a beautiful finish.
