1/2 c. corn starch 1 c. cold water 1 env. unflavored gelatin 2 c. hot water 1/2 c. mild soap flakes or synthetic detergent Food coloring or 1 tsp. Rit dye per cup
Combine corn starch and 3/4 cup cold water in a saucepan. Soak gelatin in remaining 1/4 cup water. Add hot water to starch mixture and cook and stir over medium heat until mixture comes to a boil and turns clear. Remove from heat. Blend in softened gelatin. Add soap; stir until mixture thickens and soap dissolves. Makes 3 cups. Add color. Can be used for most any type of children's paintings.
